As CEO and co-founder, Jim Simpson launched East Daley Analytics to disrupt a market by driving transparency in energy commodity and capital markets. On this mission, East Daley Analytics has become the go-to, trusted source for the most accurate and detailed North American energy expertise by connecting micro-level commodity data with macro-level capital market insights. Jim commonly refers to this as “connecting the molecules to money.” As a 23-year veteran of the energy industry, Jim’s experience analyzing and managing energy information and commodity risk for the gas and power industries has enabled him to understand the complex market dynamics that create market events. As a former co-owner and executive at BENTEK Energy, Jim built and led the research group that pioneered the standard for today’s natural gas supply and demand analytics. Bentek Energy was sold to Platts/S&P Global in 2011. Earlier in his career, he spent extensive time at Enron modeling large structured transactions in both gas and power, as well as trading natural gas.
