In addition to voting for a slate of nine nominees for uncontested Council seats, USAEE members cast ballots in the race for Vice-President, Government, which was contested by two of highly qualified candidates — Garrett Golding and eventual winner Shruti K. Mishra. The ten members elected this week are joined by Dean Foreman, who will transition from President-Elect to President in 2025, and by current President Eric Hittinger, who will serve as Immediate Past President beginning in January.
Four of those elected (Ning Lin, Jamal Mankhezri, Shruti K. Mishra, and Samuel Lockhart Priestley) are new to the Council, while eight serving this year will carry on in 2025. Next year's Council will comprise members spanning academia, industry, and government who reflect a broad array of specializations.
We offer our congratulations, thanks, and best wishes to all who will serve on the Council in the coming year. Our thanks also go to the many members who cast votes in this year's election for their active engagement in the selection of the 2025 Council.
Sincerely,
Helen Currie
