Watching oil and gas markets: Are there grounds for cautious optimism?

Andrew Slaughter, Executive Director of the Deloitte Center for Energy Solutions at Deloitte LLP

You are cordially invited to attend the Summer 2016 meeting of the Bay Area Chapter of the U.S. Association for Energy Economics (USAEE).

In the Bay Area we are fortunate to have a unique mix of energy economists from diverse backgrounds in the private sector, public sector, or academia, as well as from diverse locations including San Francisco, Berkeley, Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, Davis, and Sacramento. One of the goals of the chapter is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, of advances in knowledge, and of professional experiences among energy professionals and students from these diverse backgrounds and diverse locations. We therefore have meetings at various locations in the Bay Area. Previously we have held meetings at the University of California at Davis in Davis, at the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto, at Morrison & Foerster LLP in San Francisco, at Navigant in San Francisco, at PG&E in San Francisco, and at Chevron in San Ramon.

For our Summer 2016 meeting, we are pleased to have Andrew Slaughter as a USAEE Distinguished Lecturer. Andrew Slaughter is the Executive Director of the Deloitte Center for Energy Solutions at Deloitte LLP. He will be giving a talk on "Watching oil and gas markets: Are there grounds for cautious optimism?"

The meeting will take place on Monday, August 29 from 6-8pm at Chevron in San Ramon. A light dinner will be served.

This meeting has been made possible through generous sponsorship from Chevron and from the USAEE Distinguished Lecturer Series.

Details on how to join the chapter and register for the meeting, as well as the biography of our speaker, are available below and at this link. The registration deadline is Monday, August 22 at 5pm.

In addition, I am pleased to let you know of a special, limited time only opportunity. In support of our USAEE Bay Area Chapter, the U.S. Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) will offer a complimentary one-year USAEE membership to anyone who pays the 2016 USAEE Bay Area Chapter membership dues and attends at least one USAEE Bay Area Chapter meeting by September 5, 2016. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity and to consider attending the next USAEE North American Conference, to be held in Tulsa, OK on October 23-26, 2016.

Thanks for all your help in making the USAEE Bay Area Chapter a success! I hope to see you at our Summer 2016 meeting.
